If you’re like me, and you love to cook, you probably do a good amount of slicing, chopping and cutting yourself. Having a sharp knife at the ready is a must for people like us. But almost every knife will lose its edge sooner or later, depending on how high a quality of blade it is, and not everyone knows how to use a whetstone.
Presto’s Professional EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener is Easy to Use
Let’s face it; using a whetstone can be difficult. You have to hold the blade at just the right angle, and apply just the right amount of pressure to get a consistent edge along the length of the steel. Not to mention the fact that you’re slicing very near to the hand that is holding the whetstone, unless you have a tabletop version. This can be dangerous, as well as tedious.
But the Presto Professional EverSharp electric knife sharpener is so simple to use that almost anyone can have a razor sharp knife in no time at all. Even the dullest of kitchen knives can be brought back to life in just a couple of minutes with this device.
It has two grinding stones built in. The coarse side, on the left, can quickly reshape dull or damaged blades to prepare them for final sharpening. The fine side, on the right, can put an ultra fine edge on them so sharp that you could almost shave with it in just a few strokes.
Built in blade guides make keeping the proper angle easy. Just lay the blade along the guide and pull toward you at about one inch per second, rotating each side of the blade for about three strokes on the coarse stone, then three strokes on the fine stone. That’s all there is to it. No need for honing oils or cramping hands from trying to hold the knife at just the right angle.
Presto’s Professional Eversharp Electric Knife Sharpener is Very Affordable
This high quality, easy to use electric knife sharpener is very cheaply priced, usually around $30.00 or so. For example, Walmart’s website has it listed for $29.97 at this time. When you consider that a quality two sided whetstone at the same Walmart website costs as much or more, you’ll see just how much of a bargain this price is.
Its ease of use puts it over the top in my book when compared to a whetstone, no matter what the stone costs. And its low price makes it affordable even for those who only occasionally need to sharpen their knives.
My Presto Professional EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener has Made My Whetstone Obsolete
Hey, I grew up in the country, and learning how to use a whetstone was almost mandatory. I’ve spent countless hours sharpening knives for hunting, cooking, fishing and construction work on my old Arkansas whetstone. I was good at it too. I could put a razor edge on just about any type of blade, given enough time and patience.
But since I purchased my Presto Professional EverSharp electric knife sharpener, I haven’t taken that old Arkansas whetstone out of its case.
Why spend ten minutes sharpening a filet knife when I can do it just as well or better in less than two? Not to mention easier.
If you use knives regularly for cooking, work, or what have you, I highly recommend that you check out Presto’s Professional EverSharp electric knife sharpener to see if it could be right for you. There are dozens of brands of electric knife sharpeners on the market, but when you compare cost, ease of use, and durability (mine is over two years old, and used frequently), it’s a great bargain in my opinion.
